I delight greatly in the Lord: my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. For as the soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes seeds to grow, so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness and praise spring up before all nations. ( Isaiah 61: 10 – 11 )
Read the first 9 verses of Isaiah 61 and you will see what God expects of born again Christians.
To preach the good news to the poor
To bind up the brokenhearted
To proclaim freedom for the captives by releasing them from the darkness
To proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
To proclaim the day of vengeance for our God
To comfort all who mourn
I see a rising up of Christians in America using their economic and voting power to bring America back to her roots, a Christian nation. This is good for all Americans for Christians have been the back bone of charity in America and throughout the world. Christians have been working for our fellow man in a common goal of freedom for all and a government for the people, by the people. I’m glad Christians have finally woke up to the fact that Christianity does not stay behind the church walls. Your Christianity must be in all parts of our lives: work, play, family, and politics. But let us not forget Isaiah 61. We are to preach the gospel to all people, for anyone to obtain true freedom he or she must be born again.
Born again: Is to accept Jesus as your savior, that by faith you accept that Jesus was born of the virgin Mary, was crucified on the cross, died, three days later rose from the grave, and then ascended to heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father today. By Jesus doing this your past, present, and future sins are forgiven. That one day He is coming back for us. Sending this message out to all will be the best way to bring America back to her roots. So you see, as much as we Christians would like to blame other groups of people for the mess our nation is in, we can’t. It is our responsibility to reach out to all people by meeting their needs and sharing the saving grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. When we do this we will see a change in America.
