THE AUTHORITY OF CHRIST
All of our victory in this life comes through what Christ has already accomplished for us in his death, his resurrection, and his ascension.
The Cross: Cleanses us from sin, removes our old nature, and disarms the demons.
Passage Galatians 2:20:
20I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Passage Colossians 2:13-15:
13When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature,[a] God made you[b] alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. 15And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.[c]
The Resurrection: Brings us new life in Christ, a life triumphant, our new nature.
Passage Romans 5:17:
17For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.
Passage Romans 6:5-11:
5If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection. 6For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with,[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin— 7because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.
8Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.
11In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
The Ascension: Empowers us with that same authority Jesus Christ has been given- all authority in heaven and on earth.
Passage Matthew 28:18:
18Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Passage Ephesians 2:4-6:
4But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,
This came from the Wild at Heart field manual by John Eldredge. I have been studying it and I had to share this part. What power and authority we have in Christ Jesus, we need to get to work by claiming this power and authority to bring our nation back to the Christian nation it once was. Yes we have freedom of religion, and we must keep that, however to be free is to follow God’s way not man’s way. God’s way is to love one another and man’s way is to get all I can get for myself. Christianity promotes love for one another no matter who you are or where you came from and it is a free gift that can’t be earned, so you don’t have to blow yourself up to get to heaven, you only have to accept the free gift from Jesus and then become a disciple of his and tell other people what he has done for you. By sharing you faith in him, he has given us the responsibility and privilege to share his gospel with the world.
God Bless,
