A heart for God’s use
Passage Amos 7:7-8:
7 This is what he showed me: The Lord was standing by a wall that had been built true to plumb, with a plumb line in his hand. 8 And the LORD asked me, "What do you see, Amos?"
"A plumb line," I replied.
Then the Lord said, "Look, I am setting a plumb line among my people Israel; I will spare them no longer.
1. Set your heart to God.
Passage 2 Chronicles 11:16:
16(A)Those from all the tribes of Israel who set their hearts on seeking the LORD God of Israel followed them to Jerusalem, to sacrifice to the LORD God of their fathers.
Passage Luke 13:14:
14But (A)the synagogue official, indignant because Jesus (B)had healed on the Sabbath, began saying to the crowd in response, "(C)There are six days in which work should be done; so come during them and get healed, and not on the Sabbath day."
2. Yield your heart to God.
Passage Joshua 24:23:
23"Now therefore, put away the foreign gods which are in your midst, and (A)incline your hearts to the LORD, the God of Israel."
3. Cleanse your heart for God.
Passage 1 Samuel 7:3-4:
3Then Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, "(A)If you return to the LORD with all your heart, (B)remove the foreign gods and the (C)Ashtaroth from among you and (D)direct your hearts to the LORD and (E)serve Him alone; and He will deliver you from the hand of the Philistines."
4So the sons of Israel removed the Baals and the Ashtaroth and served the LORD alone.
4. Guard your heart for God.
Passage Proverbs 4:23:
23Watch over your heart with all diligence,
For (A)from it flow the springs of life
Passage Matthew 22:37:
37And He said to him, " '(A)YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.'
5. Do not harden your heart.
Passage Hebrews 3:8:
8(A)DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS AS WHEN THEY PROVOKED ME,
AS IN THE DAY OF TRIAL IN THE WILDERNESS,
Passage Ezekiel 11:19-20:
19"And I will (A)give them one heart, and put a new spirit within them And I will take the (B)heart of stone out of their flesh and give them a (C)heart of flesh,
20that they may (D)walk in My statutes and keep My ordinances and do them Then they will be (E)My people, and I shall be their God.
Do you want God to bless you? Then give your heart to Jesus the son of God. He is the way, the truth, and the light. No one comes unto the Father except by Jesus.
